Journeys
Life is a great journey and I am one of those adventurous people who always will turn down a different road just to see where it goes. This led me to trying out a mini bike at age 12 and I have been hooked on motorcycles every since. Motorcycles and adventure - what a marriage! As a teen, I asked for (and usually received) a ride on the back of any guy's bike. Then I continued to ride on the back until 2006 when I bought a Honda 1300 to learn on. Duh...I totally suggest a smaller bike to begin with. I kept the Honda for 2 years then bought a brand new, customized Harley-Davidson Heritage in black cherry - forever more known as the Rose - no, not after the flower (although it is my favorite flower) but because of an Irish blessing that comes to mind:
(Traditional Irish Blessing; origin unknown, although some attribute it to St. Patrick.)
| An Irish Blessing |
| May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your fields, And, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. |
So now when I come home after riding I can say something nerdy like the road rose up to meet the Rose - lol. The Rose is 6 years old and I have put 54,000 beautiful miles on it so far, and am looking forward to another 50,000!
